Baker (Full time):
We are looking for an enthusiastic, hard-working individual to join our bread baking team. We get up early, work hard, mix, shape, and bake several hundred loaves of bread daily, and genuinely have fun doing it.
Job Responsibilities Include:
-Starting work early (4am) and being punctual.
-Working well on a team and being an enthusiastic learner.
-Displaying an attention to detail, multitasking well, and respecting Brimfield Bread Oven’s standards for quality.
-Lifting 60lbs repeatedly, hand dividing and shaping hundreds of loaves every day and performing an assortment of other kitchen tasks, including dishes. This can be a physically demanding job.
Prior baking or kitchen experience is obviously a plus, but all the requisite skills can be learned. A strong work ethic, a desire to learn, and a desire to serve your community are by far the most important traits we look for in a good candidate.
Work Schedule:
Tuesday 6am-2pm
Wednesday 4am-12pm
Thursday 4am-12pm
Friday 4am-12pm
Saturday 4am-12pm
Pay is based on experience. While we do not offer health benefits, (we have found healthcare.gov has cheaper plans than we could create), we do include free food of any sort from the bakery with no limit.
Front of House (Part time):
The front of house will facilitate the sale of Brimfield Bread Oven’s in-house products, prepare coffee and other hot drinks, keep the display shelves and pastry cases stocked and clean, assist in keeping the front of house tidy and washing dishes, and generally help create a friendly, welcoming environment for Brimfield Bread Oven’s retail customers. While not expected right away, the right candidate will memorize the bread and pastries we offer and be able to explain to customers the different types and recommend items to pair with different foods. All applicants must be able to stand for an 8 hour shift, lift up to 50 pounds, have a positive attitude and generally be a good people person. Prior retail sales experience is a plus but we will train the right candidate.
Job requirements: Great people skills, detail oriented, clean, multitasking, teamwork and excellent attendance is a must. We have a very friendly team and this can be a long term position for the right person.
